SaaS MVP for a Fintech Startup, Launched in 6 Weeks
Took a founder from a Figma mockup and a fundraising deadline to a working, investor-demo-ready SaaS product in six weeks.
Finance & Fintech · Oct 2025
The problem
The founder had validated the idea — a personal finance dashboard that aggregates bank accounts and flags spending patterns — through customer interviews and a clickable prototype, but had six weeks before a fundraising deadline and no engineering team of their own to build a working product for investor demos.
What we built
- Ran a single discovery session to lock a fixed scope: account linking, a spending dashboard, one automated insight (recurring subscription detection), and basic auth — deliberately cutting everything else for version one.
- Integrated Plaid for bank account linking rather than building custom bank connections, since a proven third-party integration was faster and more reliable to ship than a homegrown one.
- Built on Supabase for auth and the database to avoid standing up custom backend infrastructure the founder would need to maintain solo after handoff.
- Shipped in weekly deploys the founder could see and react to, rather than one long build-then-reveal cycle, so scope stayed anchored to what investors actually needed to see.
The result
The MVP shipped in six weeks with all four core flows working end-to-end and zero critical bugs at launch. The founder used it directly in investor demos, and the codebase was clean enough that a first engineering hire could extend it immediately post-raise instead of rebuilding.
